Modern Trellis

Our trellis blew down in the wind over the winter and we took the opportunity to replace it with something a bit more sympathetic to our surroundings. The original trellis had been a very ordinary lattice trellis with a wavey top, that would look good in an urban garden but here in the country looked odd.  The new trellis uses the wooden fences seen all around as inspiration with the modern twist of varying sizes of wood used as slats.  The gaps are kept quite wide so that it allows some view into the veg patch and countryside beyond. We cut down the honeysuckle that had smothered the previous trellis before it started to grow this spring, so we will loose the flowers this year but it will re-grow to cover the new trellis.
