Winter Interest in the Garden

A good planting design should include the look of the garden in the winter and should include some perennials that will retain their shape and interest throughout the winter, especially here in Aberdeenshire where winter can last up to a third of the year. The two plants in the is picture Stachys byzantina and Sedum 'Autumn Joy' are both great for winter structure and look especially good with frost highlighting their shape.
